ANIMAL ECOLOGY & PHOTOGRAPHY

I am an animal ecologist and wildlife photographer.

My background is in animal behavior, and my research as an undergraduate at the University of California, Davis was focused on elephant behavior, working mostly with a herd of captive elephants at a South African reserve. Most of my wildlife photography is from these field excursions, or from coastal California, where I was born and raised.

I'm currently a Ph.D. student in the Newsome Lab at the University of New Mexico, where I'll be using stable isotopes to study community ecology. You can read more about my research here.

You can get in touch with me at ztrossman@unm.edu or at photography@zoerossman.com for photo-related inquiries.
